Vault Notes is a fast, local-first markdown notebook for your desktop, iPhone, and iPad. Your notes are plain files that live on your device — and sync, only if you want, through your own Google Drive.
Every note is a real markdown file stored on your device. The app works fully offline, with no account required. Nothing leaves your machine unless you turn on sync.
Optional sync keeps your notes and attachments in a single folder inside your own Google Drive. There is no Vault Notes server in the middle — we never store your notes.
Live markdown with images, code blocks, math, callouts, tables, and attachments — designed to stay out of your way while you write.
Because your notes are just files in a folder you control, there is no lock-in. Export is a copy-paste away, and your library is readable without us.
Vault Notes has no analytics servers, no ad tracking, and does no AI processing of your notes. When you enable sync, the app requests access only to the files it creates in your Drive — never the rest of your account.
